Our aim at Sydney Opera House is to offer something for everyone – every day! Across seven venues you will see live performance including circus, cabaret, puppetry, comedy, burlesque, indigenous film, world music, chamber music, hip hop, jazz, contemporary dance, experimental theatre, world-renowned performers and new talent alike.
What is the Annual Giving Program?
The Annual Giving Program aims to implement the something for everyone – every day! objective by finding supporters that will join us in investing in the four key areas of our work:

Outstanding Live Performance – bringing the best of the world’s performers to our stages!

Youth & Education Programs – developing programs for young people and families, and ensuring that price points for these events are as accessible as possible.

Community & Access Projects – providing a variety of performances at an affordable cost for the enjoyment of all of our community.

Preservation & Development – assisting us in maintaining Sydney Opera House as a World Heritage Listed masterpiece of modern architecture.
Why do we do it?
While Sydney Opera House is perhaps the most famous performance venue in the world, it also relies heavily on local community support as a not-for-profit operation. You may be surprised to learn that we receive less than 22% of our annual operating income from Government. Ticket sales cover only a fraction of the cost of presenting the diverse programs we offer.
