About All About Women
10 March 2024
All About Women is the Sydney Opera House’s centerpiece talks festival about gender, justice, and equality, held annually in the week of International Women’s Day. For over a decade, the celebrated event has filled our venues with inspiring moments and buzzy, agenda-setting conversations.
Now in its 12th year, AAW brings international and Australian artists, thinkers and storytellers together to explore the big ideas important to women, gender diverse people and their allies. This year’s festival has been programmed by the Sydney Opera House Talks & Ideas team, led by Chip Rolley, alongside three All About Women alumnae who have co-curated individual events: Bri Lee, Clementine Ford, and Nakkiah Lui.
Our 2024 event continued to challenge assumptions about gender and power by exploring issues around our bodies, desire, consent, and identity; and we teased out new ideas about gossip, parenthood, beauty, consumerism, and the extraordinary way our lives are changing – sometimes in ways we don’t notice.
