Nooks & Crannies Volume One
Feat. José González and Hiatus Kaiyote
Nooks & Crannies is a unique live music series celebrating iconic architecture and artistic expression in unexpected and spectacular unseen spaces inside Sydney Opera House. In Volume One, watch enchanting performances from Vivid LIVE 2023 headliners José González and Hiatus Kaiyote as they bring inside spaces outside.
José González celebrates the 20th Annivesary of Veneer in the Concert Hall from 26 – 28 May.
Hiatus Kaiyote perform an exclusive show with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday 30 May.
Max Richter - Talking Music
Hailed as one of the most influential contemporary composers of the past decade, legendary and innovative British composer Max Richter chats about Vivaldi, his inspirations and the essence of live performance in this 2015 interview.
Max Richter brings his Ambient Orchestra with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra to the Concert Hall on Saturday 3 June.
Liminal: Maina Doe
Blazing a trail into the sonic future, Sydney singer-songwriter Maina Doe has fast become a singular talent on the local music scene, fusing her love of old-school R&B and hip-hop with cutting-edge neo-soul and her distinctive Somali-Indonesian heritage.
Maina Doe performs in the Utzon Room on Saturday 3 June.
The Necks / In Session
The award-winning band The New York Times called “the greatest trio on earth.” Watch this unique single-take performance where The Necks perform their singular mix of avant rock, jazz and ambient music live in the Utzon Room.
The Necks take residence in the Drama Theatre over two nights from 30 – 31 May for Vivid LIVE 2023.
A Coodjinburra man from the Bundjalung nation, Budjerah Slabb was raised in a home full of instruments and playing in family bands. His warm, rich sound – forged from the elements of soul, gospel, R&B and contemporary pop – reflects the diversity of his influences.
Budjerah makes his Vivid LIVE debut in the Studio on Wednesday 31 May.
HTRK / In Session
Melbourne electronic post-punk duo HTRK perform live in the Drama Theatre, shortly prior to their Sydney Opera House debut at Vivid LIVE 2022, with a set which draws heavily from their acclaimed 2021 album, Rhinestones.
HTRK perform in the Studio on Saturday 3 June alongside Lust For Youth, Croatian Amor and YL Hooi, returning to Vivid LIVE in 2023 as part of the two-night Posh Isolation takeover.
Low Life | From Our House To Yours
In a ferocious performance of guttural guitars and anthemic vocals, Low Life make their Sydney Opera House debut for a cathartic masterclass in pummelling post-punk rhythm live from the Joan Sutherland Theatre.
Low Life perform in the Studio on Sunday 4 June alongside Iceage (DK) and DX as part of Posh Isolation, curated by Low Life frontman 3NDLES5 – aka Mitch Tolman.
Shortwave: Deepfaith | A Deepfaith Digital Odyssey
Shortwave is a series of new digital commissions, designed to platform a diverse cross-section of emerging or early career interdisciplinary Australian artists working at the forefront of digital performance.
