Western Australia’s newest indie rock heroes South Summit have fast become festival favourites with their soaring mix of roots, reggae, blues and alt-rock. This is their Vivid LIVE debut.

Mining a shared love of rock, reggae, blues, and psychedelic guitar jams, South Summit pop with the confidence of a band much further into their career.

Triple J

Indie rock, reggae and psychedelic guitars from Perth’s most exciting new band

Blending sounds and cultures with a heartfelt sense of unity, Perth five-piece South Summit have quickly become one of Western Australia’s most exciting young rock ’n’ roll exports. The band’s blend of alt-rock, reggae, blues and indie has endeared them to sold-out crowds in their hometown and at festivals across the country. This year, they’re set to make their Vivid LIVE debut.

Formed during the lockdowns of 2020, South Summit – lead vocalist Zaya, bassist Josh, lead guitarist Fynn, rhythm guitarist Nemo and drummer Nathan – came to attention with the psych-influenced reggae-rock fusion of their debut EP, Merlin’s (2021) and the hazy, widescreen guitars of the single “River Days”. They were soon captivating audiences with performances at Falls Festival, Groovin The Moo and BIGSOUND, and expanding their groove on follow-up EPs Creatures (2023) and Tales of the Yeti (2023).

Don’t miss the band that’s set to become one Australia’s biggest acts.
