East and West coast join forces for First Nations hip-hop throw-down from three of the best

Making their Vivid LIVE debut, rappers Tasman Keith, Flewnt and Inkabee come together to celebrate the hip-hop community for a huge show at the Sydney Opera House Utzon Room.

Tasman Keith

Award-winning, Sydney-based rapper Tasman Keith was born into music. His father, Wire MC, was an innovative ’90s rapper  who introduced Tasman to hip-hop at a young age. Raised in Bowraville on the New South Wales coast, Keith started making music, leading to his first EP, 2018’s Mission Famous. His powerful, incisive lyricism caught the attention of Peter Garrett, who tapped Keith to collaborate with Midnight Oil on “First Nation”. Keith was joined by guests including Jessica Mauboy, Genesis Owusu and Kwame for his debut album, the Australian Music Prize-nominated A Colour Undone (2022), and has worked with Holy Holy and JK-47. With his vibrant mix of indigenous culture and hip-hop, Keith has become one of the nation’s most respected – and exciting – rappers.

Flewnt

Joshua Egginton, better known as Flewnt MC, is an award-winning Noongar Wongi rapper from Boorloo (aka Perth) whose music is a galvanising force of strength and positivity in the Blak community. His block parties have become legendary celebrations of hip-hop and First Nations artists, while his activism has seen him mentor at-risk youth in his hometown. One of the West Coast’s freshest, funkiest MCs, Flewnt is making his Vivid LIVE debut.

Inkabee

Flewnt’s eldest son Ethan Eggington – who performs as Inkabee – was just seven years old when he penned his first rap. By 10 he’d released his debut single, 2022’s “Beat the Odds”, a Blak anthem co-written with his dad. In 2023, Inkabee released the breakout tracks “Saved By The Bell” and “We Dat Good”, and blew minds – including none other than Grammy-Award-winning star Chance The Rapper – with his performance at SXSW Sydney. He’s about to be huge.
