Join award winning puppet theatre company, Papermoon Puppet Theatre, creators of A Bucket of Beetles for an in depth look at creating puppetry and installation theatre for young audiences.

Useful information:

Creating shadow puppets with natural materials

Immerse yourself in the traditions of both Indonesian storytelling and contemporary shadow puppetry with internationally renowned theatre company, Papermoon Puppet Theatre from Indonesia.

Over 90 minutes participants will explore the world of A Bucket of Beetles making shadow installations using branches and leaves, and exploring way to bring objects, materials and figures to life using simple natural materials.

Artists from Papermoon will guide you to create  your own puppets using recycled and natural materials, and explore how these puppets can inform storytelling, set design and the audiences experience of the performance.

You will leave with new tools and perspectives for using simple materials to inspire audiences of all ages, through the magic of puppetry, light and installations.

This workshop is suitable for emerging, mid and senior level artists, educators and early childhood professionals interested in contemporary puppet theatre and installation work for all ages. Your ticket is for both a place in the workshop and to see the performance A Bucket of Beetles.
