Queen of experimental pop announces a final Sydney headline performance due to overwhelming demand

In long-awaited news for fans, promoters are thrilled to announce the acclaimed US songwriter, singer and producer is headed our way – Polachek bringing her The Spiraling Tour to the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall this December. The tour news comes off the back of Polachek’s acclaimed latest album, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You.

If 2019’s Pang was an ephemeral, crystalline document of risking everything for new love, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You is Polachek at her most physical, turning up the temperature and trading tight narrative for visceral tone-poetry. The first taste of the latest album came in the form of cult hit single ‘Bunny Is A Rider’, which premiered as Annie Mac‘s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 and gained universal praise from the likes of The New York Times, The Guardian, The Fader, NME, and was named Best Song of 2021 by Pitchfork. It was followed by the dazzling ‘Billions’, the Spanish-themed ‘Sunset’, ‘Welcome To My Island’, and latest offering ‘Smoke’, all further proof Polachek is one of the most exciting artists in the new generation of pop disruptors.

In 2022 she supported Dua Lipa on her US arena tour and followed up in 2023 with a global headlining tour – selling out venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York, The Greek Theatre in LA, and Hammersmith Apollo in London. She has also appeared at seemingly every prominent music festival in the world including Coachella, Glastonbury (two years in a row), Fuji Rock, Lollapalooza, Oya, and many more.

Triumphant and abundantly creative, Sydney don’t miss your final chance to witness an artist at the forefront of innovative pop music.
