A free night of home-grown music under the stars
One of Australia’s most beloved singer-songwriters is joined by one of its hottest young talents as seven-time ARIA award-winner Dan Sultan and indie pop sensation Jem Cassar-Daley take over the Sydney Opera House Forecourt for a night of musical celebration.
A multiple award-winning hitmaker with a rich, soulful catalogue of sound, Arrernte/Gurindji musician Dan Sultan broke through with his country-inflected 2006 debut, Homemade Biscuits, and his electric roots-rock soon captured fans across the nation. He has won ARIAs for Get Out While You Can (2009), Blackbird (2014), Nali & Friends (2019) and Dan Sultan (2023), multiple APRAs and National Indigenous Music Awards, dazzled audiences at Splendour in the Grass, Blues Festival and Falls Festival, and toured with the likes of Missy Higgins, Bruce Springsteen, Midnight Oil and Vance Joy.
Since her debut in 2021, special guest Jem Cassar-Daley has quickly earned a reputation for her magnetic stage presence, celestial vocals and radiant indie pop, taking centre stage on tour with Thelma Plum in 2022 and winning the National Indigenous Music Award for New Talent of the Year with her debut EP, I Don't Know Who to Call. The indie darling and Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung woman previously performed at the Sydney Opera House as part of last year’s Generations and Dynasties with her legendary father, Troy Cassar-Daley.
