A transcendent modern pianist makes her Sydney Opera House debut

One of the world’s most transcendent modern pianists, Polish musician and composer Hania Rani has enchanted fans and critics with her ethereal blend of ambient, classical and house, deftly weaving rhythmic impulses beneath cascading melodies. After captivating Australian audiences with her shows last year, Rani returns for her highly anticipated debut at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, performing selections from her deeply personal catalogue of work.

Originally from Gdansk and now dividing her time between Warsaw and Berlin, the classically trained Rani began incorporating jazz, ambient and house music into her sound, leading to her mesmerising 2019 debut Esja, a solo piano collection that swept her homeland’s prestigious Fryderyk Awards. She introduced vocals and electronic sounds to her acclaimed follow-up Home (2020) – named as one of Rough Trade’s albums of the year – and built a worldwide following with a series of stunning live performances, including a 2022 show at the legendary Les Invalides in Paris.

In 2023, Rani released the acclaimed Ghosts, which blended a lifetime of musical experience into a unique cosmic soundscape, and drew inspiration from artists as diverse as Enya, The Smile, James Blake and Pink Floyd. Recorded in a place of personal and artistic significance, Rani’s latest record Nostalgia (2024) is described as her first real ‘live’ album, one that brings together her music and visual work for an exhilarating new chapter in her career.

Dont miss your chance to experience the magic of Hania Rani live.
