Meet the Chefs
Dan Hunter
Dan Hunter is the owner and chef at Brae, a contemporary restaurant in rural Victoria renowned for its commitment to sustainability and organic farming. Brae’s ethos centers around food for purpose, with each dish crafted from ingredients grown on Brae’s farm or sourced from ethical local producers.
Bringing Brae’s philosophy to Sydney, Dan’s commitment to environmental consciousness and culinary excellence will be at the heart of this unique dining experience. Brae has held 3 hats since 2014 and is ranked among the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
Danielle Alvarez
Danielle Alvarez is one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs, renowned for her farm-to-table approach and dedication to sustainability. Drawing from her Cuban-American roots and experience at world-famous restaurants like The French Laundry and Chez Panisse, she now leads as Culinary Director of the Yallamundi Rooms at the Sydney Opera House, crafting menus that highlight local, seasonal produce.
Previously, Danielle was the creative force behind Fred’s in Paddington, where she maintained 2 Chef’s Hats throughout her tenure. She is also the author of the cookbook ‘Always Add Lemon’, a regular columnist for Good Weekend Magazine, and co-host of The Good Food Kitchen.

Venue information
Our foyers will be open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and two hours pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Refreshments will be available for purchase from our theatre bars.
All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators). Pram parking will be available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.
Getting here
The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offer discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see the Wilson Parking website for details.
Please check the Transport NSW website for the latest advice and information on travel. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a six minute walk to the Opera House.
