Sydney's boldest new dance-pop star makes her solo Vivid LIVE debut
Western Sydney has exploded with talented young hip-hop, R&B and dance-pop artists over the past few years, and they don’t come any more exciting than Kamilaroi-Samoan singer-songwriter Becca Hatch. Over a string of captivating singles, the 22 -year-old sensation has fast become one the brightest new stars on the scene, carving out a genre-bending space in dance-pop that defies comparison. After playing Briggs’ Bad Apples House Party at Vivid LIVE 2019 and the Barrabuwari Sunset Gathering at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt in 2021, Hatch is ready for her Vivid LIVE headline show, performing one night only in the Utzon Room.
Just 16 when she won triple j Unearthed High’s Indigenous Initiative in 2017, Hatch moved beyond early influences like Ariana Grande and H.E.R. to establish a reputation for soulful vocals and island sounds, drawing on her Samoan heritage and indigenous roots for a distinctive style of R&B. Her debut single “2560” (2020), a tough and tender ode to her home of Campbelltown, was an APRA-award-nominated smash, followed by “Girl Like Me”, “Please U”, and her memorable Triple J Like A Version cover of John Farnham’s “Burn For You”. Seamlessly weaving elements of UK Garage, Baile funk, house and dance-pop into her sound, Hatch continued to expand beyond her R&B roots and experiment with genre on 2021’s jungle-tinged “Safety” and last year’s silky, dancefloor-ready bangers “Without You” and“Blessed”.
With two brand new singles, “All of Me” (featuring KIAN) and “Ride for Me ” with Club Angel on the horizon, Hatch is truly the moment – and set to bring her captivating sound to the Vivid LIVE stage.

Our foyers will be open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and two hours pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Refreshments will be available for purchase from our theatre bars.
All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators). Pram parking will be available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.

The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offer discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see their website for details.
Please check the Transport NSW website for the latest advice and information on travel. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a six min walk to the Opera House.

Frequently asked questions
- The Lighting of the Sails during Vivid Sydney is a free event. You will not need a ticket.
- If you are attending a performance as part of the Vivid LIVE program, a valid ticket is required. It’s highly recommended that you purchase tickets in advance.
- In line with our venue security procedures, Opera House security will be scanning and checking bags prior to entering the building. Bags will be scanned by an x-ray machine. Please travel lightly and do not bring items that require cloaking e.g. handbags bigger than A4-size, backpacks and umbrellas, which are not permitted inside our venues.
- Yes, cloaking will remain available but it is strongly encouraged that you travel lightly and leave large, bulky items at home. Cloakroom attendants will use disposable paper tickets to keep track of your items.

The Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay precincts are very popular and attract large crowds during Vivid Sydney. Visitors are strongly encouraged to leave the car at home and use public transport wherever possible. During this time, there will be changes to transport timetables.

Ticketholders are welcome to bring their own water bottle (as long as it isn’t made of glass) but no other food and drinks are permitted inside our venues.
