Hypnotic grooves and percussive beats from the global electronic underground

One of Vivid LIVE’s biggest and most memorable club nights, the festival’s beloved Studio Party returns with a trio of renowned special guests from across the global electronic underground.

Heading up the evening are Sydney-based party people DUNJ, a crew of DJs and producers who launched in 2012 with a series of DIY events around the harbour and have since expanded into a thriving community with a shared love of deep sound system-driven music. Encompassing the full spectrum of underground dance music, from deep dubstep, jungle, drum n bass and UK bass music through to tripped-out techno, breaks and trance-infused doof, the crew – including Alec Sander, 9toe, Swisherman, Jas Peters, Ridds, Ma Lo, Sonny Whu & Mighty Healthy – have hosted a huge roster of international guests.

Joining them is Tunisian artist Azu Tiwaline, an electronic producer whose extraordinary musical vision – rooted in Soundystem psychedelia – infuses the polyrhythmic energy of dub and techno with the mystical influences of her Saharan heritage.

Completing the huge line-up is innovative Berlin-based English producer Shackleton. An influential electronic artist who came up through the dubstep underground of the early 2000s, the producer honed his unique rhythmic touch and hypnotic beats on the cult UK label Skull Disco before going on to create some of the most progressive and experimental electronic sounds to emerge from Europe in the past decade.
